Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Rajgir Tour Overview
Bodh Gaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage associated with the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in Gaya district of Bihar. It is famous as it is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. For Buddhists, Bodh Gaya is the most important sites related to Gautama Buddha life. In 2002, Mahabodhi Temple, located in Bodh Gaya, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Rajgir- Vishwa Shanti Stupa is a huge white stupa situated at a height of 400 metres on the Ratnagiri hill in Rajgir. It is made of white marble and has four shining golden Buddha statues on the corners of the Stupa. The four Buddha statues represent four important events of the life of Lord Buddha.
Nalanda- Nalanda University is a public central/union university located in Nalanda. It is designated as an international institution of national importance and excellence. Hieun Tsang said that the Nalanda University was the world's first residential international university with about 2,000 teachers and 10,000 monk-students from around the Buddhist world who studied and lived there.
Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Rajgir Tour Itinerary
Departure from Howrah Railway station by train no. 13023 at 19.50 hrs for onward journey to Gaya.
Reach Gaya at 10.45 hrs. Pick-up from Gaya Station and proceed to hotel at Bodhgaya for check in and freshen-up. After freshen up visit Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree, 80 feet Buddha Statue. In the evening free for leisure and back to Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Early morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to visit Thai Temple, Chinese Temple, Tibetan temple, Japanese Temple and Bhutan Temple and Later proceed to Rajgir for overnight stay.
Early morning after breakfast check out from hotel and visit Rajgir and Nalanda. Later drop at Rajendra Nagar at 19.00 hrs to board the train no-12352 at 21.10 hrs for return journey to Kolkata.
Train reaches Howrah Railway Station at 06.40 hrs. Tour End with Sweet memories.
